John Oliver and Peyton were married on October 28, 2023, at Cold Springs Events in Paron, Arkansas. The venue sits in the woods beside a pond, with a white chapel and a white reception hall lined with big windows.
Their colors were soft pink, light grey, white and sage green. Peyton wore a long sleeve lace gown with a deep V neckline, a long train and veil, and block heels with pearl ankle straps. John Oliver and his groomsmen wore light grey suits, and the bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses. The flowers were loose and natural, with white and blush roses, eucalyptus and pampas grass.
Before the ceremony, Peyton shared an excited first look with her bridesmaids and a tender one with her dad. In letters read to each other, John Oliver promised "to be a devoted husband, to love you unconditionally, and to make you proud to have me by your side." Peyton wrote, "You reminded me that love is easy. Loving you is easy."
The ceremony was held inside the chapel, where a tall wall of glass behind a simple wooden cross framed the trees outside. The officiant described marriage as "a commitment in life where two people can find and bring out the best in each other."
They repeated traditional vows, "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health," lit a unity candle together, and exchanged rings with the words, "This ring symbolizes my love for you, and the commitments we have made today." Then they were introduced for the first time as husband and wife.
The reception was pure fun, with pizza, meatballs, donuts, cookies and candy, plus a four tier white cake with gold accents and blush roses. After cutting the cake, the two popped a bottle of champagne. They shared their first dance on the patio under string lights, followed by parent dances, and guests filled the dance floor in cowboy hats and photo booth props.
To end the night, friends and family lined up with sparklers as John Oliver and Peyton ran out together.
