Slater and Skyler’s love story started in high school, with a lunch invitation from a friend and a nervous Skyler bringing her friend Kelsey along for backup. Years later, we got to film the day they said “I do” in Lake Village, Arkansas.
It was a sunny, chilly winter day. The wedding party wore deep emerald green, and the flowers were bright pink, deep red, and white roses. Skyler gave her mom and grandmothers custom clutches lined with family photos, and her mom gave her a family heirloom handkerchief that has been passed down for generations.
Skyler’s first look with her dad, Ned, was one of our favorite moments. He teared up right away and told her, “You’re so pretty… I feel like we’re at prom.”
They were married at Lake Village Baptist Church, then celebrated at the Lake Village Country Club. There were cold sparklers during the first dance, pies next to the wedding cake, and bar napkins from their pets. The cats’ napkins said, “Unfortunately we weren’t invited.”
In her letter to Slater, Skyler wrote, “You truly are my best friend and I can’t wait to also be your wife.”
The night ended with a sparkler exit to a white limo, then a private fireworks show just for the two of them.
Congratulations, Slater and Skyler. Thank you for letting us tell your story.
